Tires of LEXUS IS250
The LEXUS seems to adopt several kinds of tire for LEXUS IS250 version S. The Bridgestone TURANZA ER33 was adopted for my purchased LEXUS IS250 version S. The tire sizes were 225/40R18 88Y for front tires and 255/40R18 95Y for rear tires. The Turanza is a coined word named from "TURING" and "POTENZA". The TURANZA has both properties silence and sport performance. It is not unknown well still in Japan, but evaluated well in Europe. The Bridgestone has flagship tire POTENZA for sport and REGNO for silence. The TURANZA has both good properties of the POTENZA and the REGNO
Actually, the TURANZA has good sport performance property. I suspect that the TURANZA has good silence property or not. I don't mention of tire noise.
Regarding tire change, I changed front tires after driving 28,000 km. I didn't change rear tires because rear tires have inough groove yet. They had enough groove after driving 31,000 km. The front tires wear at inner side compared ith outer side because of camber angle. It is important to turn the wheel when you inspect tires wearing. It is difficult to look inner side as nutral condition. Below photos show worn left side tire. The left side of these photos show inner side of tire and right side show outer side of one. Next photo show center of tire, inner side of one, outer side of one, repectively. We have to inspect not only out side of tire but also inner side of one. In my experience, tire wear result taking the wheel by rut. If you feel taking the wheel, you have to pay attention the tire wear.
I considered which tire is best for my LEXUS IS250 vesion S. Finally, I decided to select the Bridgestone POTENZA RE050. I learned that this tire wold be high grip tire from tread pattern. I heard that the deformation of the POTENZA RE05 is small at the conering by hardness of side wall. I felt good feeling to the POTENZA RE050. I didn't know the limits of this tire. I changed tires at my dealer. I cost about 100,000 yen for two fornt tires. Recently there is a way to buy tire via internet. The LEXUS dealer will change these tires. It is my pleasure that many people reffer this site.
